PURPOSE:To improve the power generation efficiency under a partial-load operation by detecting the system load, calculating the air quantity to be fed to an oxygen electrode via an arithmetic unit, and controlling a flow control valve at the outlet of an air compressor via a control unit. CONSTITUTION:A control valve 2 adjusting the air quantity is arranged between an air compressor 1 and a fuel cell oxygen electrode 6 in a fuel cell power generating system. The system load condition is detected by a detector 4, the adequate air quantity to be fed to the oxygen electrode 6 is calculated based on the detected value and the discharge pressure-discharge air flow curve of the air compressor 1 and the unit cell voltage-current density curve stored in an arithmetic unit 11 in advance, and the opening of the control valve 2 is controlled by a control unit 5 to obtain the adequate flow. Accordingly, the performance of the cell proper under a partial-load operation of the system can be increased, and the power generation efficiency of the overall system can be improved. |
