PURPOSE:To inhibit the formation of scale without reducing heating efficiency when a steel material is heated in a heating furnace, by burning combustion gas in <1 fuel-air ratio in a region surrounding the material and by burning unburned matter at the outside of the region. CONSTITUTION:Combustion gas is blown from primary combustion ports 2a at positions corresponding to a material X to be heated by passing through a heating furnace 1, and the gas is burned so that it surrounds the material X. The formation of scale is inhibited by burning the gas in <1 fuel-air ratio in a region A surrounding the material X. Secondary combustion gas is blown into parts just above and below the region A from secondary combustion ports 2b above and below the ports 2a to perfectly burn unburned matter produced by the primary combustion. |
