PURPOSE:To obtain high resolution and stable orientation by exposing negative photosensitive resist formed on a substrate through an exposure mask which has a translucent pattern part, forming and then dying a dying possible and a dying impossible part, and forming a uniform, flat color layer. CONSTITUTION:The negative photosensitive resist provided on the substrate 1 is exposed by using the exposure mask which has the translucent color pattern to make a translucent part 6-1 dyable and a totally transmissive part 6-2 undyable. This operation is repeated to form flat color layers of, for example, R, G, and B. The orientation characteristic are therefore improved to uniform a response speed. This manufacture eliminates the need to form a development and dying preventive layer, so the rationalization of manpower is attained and further image deviation is eliminated. This color filter is used widely as a substrate for liquid-crystal TV, graphic display, and CRT for a computer. |
