PURPOSE:To perform easily a passivation treatment with a small amt. of a passivation treating agent by coating the glue-like passivation treating agent contg. a thickener on the surface of stainless steel parts and resting the parts for required time. CONSTITUTION:The use of a passivation treating agent consisting of an aq. soln. contg. an oxidizing agent such as nitric acid, chromic acid or the like in the stage of subjecting the inside surface of a tank made of a highly corrosion- resistant steel such as stainless steel or the like necessitates placement of the surface to be treated in the tank under the liquid surface of the passivating soln. and therefore an extremely large volume of the passivation treating liquid is required. An org. thickener such as starch or the like or an inorg. thickener such as silica gel or the like is added to the oxidizing agent of nitric acid or chromic acid in place of such treating liquid and the glue-like passivation treating agent having viscosity is coated to 3-5mm. thickness on the surface to be treated and is rested for >=30min, by which the inside surface of the tank, etc. is subjected to the passivation treatment with the smaller amt. of the treating agent. |
