A control mechanism for the actuator (10) of powered door, e.g and "underground" or metro railway vehicle includes means (17, 20, 21, 23, 25) for interrupting and reversing a door closing operation upon detection of an obstruction. The motion of the door is sensed by a motion detector (18) and when halted a control sequence is initiated which at least partially re-opens the door and automatically recycles the door until the obstruction is cleared. |
