PURPOSE:To obtain the spectrophotometer which allows the size reduction and life prolongation of a light source and uses the xenon flash lamp with small heating value by employing an intermittent turning-on system. CONSTITUTION:A figure shows photometric data obtained when the xenon flash lamp is turned on for the 4th time (four times at a 100Hz frequency) by a mark *and photometric data when the lamp is turned on for the (n+1)th time (four times at a 100Hz frequency) by a mark . It is evident from the figure that neither the 1st nor the 2nd photometric data among photometric data of the (n)th and the (n+1)th times has stability in absorbance (mAbs). Then, the 1st and the 2nd photometric data are removed by an arithmetic processing means and the intermediate value between the remaining 3rd and the 4th photometric data with stability is calculated to obtain high-precision, stable photometric data. |
