PURPOSE:To obtain the optimum characteristic such that the brake force coincides with the predetermined value in all speed range by arranging an eddy current brake wherein the opposed poles are disposed in the same and different polarity at both sides of a disc. CONSTITUTION:An eddy current brake device has discs 3a, 3b coupled with an axle 2 of a driven vehicle, and an eddy current brake A having opposed poles 7 of the same polarity through the disc 3a and an eddy current brake B having opposed poles 7 of different polarity through the disc 3b is combination. The poles 7 are secured to the insides of downward U-shaped frames 8a, 8b secured through a stator to the floor of a body 1, and wound circumferentially with a winding coil 4. Thus, the total brake force transmitted to wheels becomes the sum of the braking forces of the both brakes A and B, thereby obtaining a flat braking force from low to high speed ranges. |
