PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of a ''vertical-time'' direction by selectively using two kinds of modes, an interlacing scanning and successive scanning, in accordance with the contents of a picture. CONSTITUTION:A synchronizing signal generating circuit 2 generates a synchronizing signal 3 in an interlacing scanning mode or a successive scanning mode on the basis of a scanning selection signal 1 and R, G and B video signals obtained from an image pickup circuit 4 are converted into signals based upon the current TV system by an encoder circuit 5. A scanning mode discriminating signal is inserted into the encoder circuit 5 during a blanking period or the like so that the scanning mode can be discriminated at a reproducing time. In a reproducing part, a decoding circuit 6 discriminates the scanning mode and generates a scanning mode signal 7. A synchronizing signal generating circuit 8 generates a synchronizing signal of the interlacing scanning or the successive scanning mode corresponding to the scanning mode signal 7 and supplies the signal to a receiver circuit 10. The receiver circuit 10 scans R, G and B signals 9 demodulated by a decoding circuit 6 in the corresponding mode to obtain a reproduced picture. |
