Textile structure consisting of parallel weft threads 1, which are held by a loose framework made of threads which are slender (thin) with respect to the said weft threads. This structure is characterised in that: - the framework binding threads 2 are based on threads coated with a layer of plastic; - the weft threads 1 are based on fibres which are stable at the temperature which allows the plastic to be softened; - the said structure is subjected, after manufacture and before use, to a heat treatment which brings about the thermal bonding of the binding threads in the areas where they intersect whilst they practically do not adhere to the weft threads 1.
