PURPOSE:To prevent generation of the blow hole and rough surface by fusing many particles of a thermoplastic resin foam to form a resin foam member and joining the cut surface of such members to each other by mean of an adhesive agent thereby forming a consumable master mold. CONSTITUTION:The particles of a thermoplastic resin foam are packed into the cavity of a mold having a steam hole or slit and steam is conducted into the cavity to fuse the foam particles to each other, then the particles are cooled to form the particles into the master mold member slightly larger than a prescribed size. Such master mold members 4a, 4b slightly larger than the prescribed size are cut to the prescribed size and the cut surfaces are joined to each other by means of the adhesive agent 6 to form the consumable master mold 4. The mold 4 is embedded together with a ceramic runner 8 into a sand mold 9 to form a casting mold 10. A molten metal 12 is poured into the cavity of the mold through a sprue 11 to evaporate the mold 4 and the cavity of the master mold generated by evaporation is replaced by the molten metal, by which casting is executed. |
