PURPOSE:To suppress a rise of the background due to the accumulation of tritium even when using the captioned detector for a long term, by providing the microchannel detector with a heating means. CONSTITUTION:A vacuum container 2 is connected to a vacuum pump through a vacuum pump connecting opening 8 while heating a heater 11 through a heater operation device 12 when evacuating. By said heating, tritium having large thermodiffusion speed is emitted from the electrode plate part of a microchannel detector 6 for being discharged outside from the vacuum container 2. Accordingly, the background due to tritium in the microchannel detector goes down, thus enabling energy analysis of neutral grains from a neutral grain generation source to be correctly performed.
