A record medium such as a disc (1) has magnetic material in the tracks, the material in different regions of the disc having different magnetic orientations (29, 30, 31) whereby the output of recorded matter is substantially the same irrespective of the position of the track on the disc. Preferably the magnetic orientation decreases in strength from the inner margin of the disc to the outer. |
