The use of metal sheets made of a steel material having 0.7 to 1.0 % by weight of Mn, 0.7 to 2.2 % by weight of Cr, 0.3 to 0.6 % by weight of Mo, 0.5 to 2.2 % by weight of Ni, at most 0.45 % by weight of C, the remainder being iron and conventional additions, for producing components which are stressed abrasively, especially by mineral bulk solids. The metal sheets are hardened to a tensile strength of the steel material from 1700 to 1850 N/mm<2> and to a tensile yield strength from 1500 to 1750 N/mm<2> and set to a breaking elongation of at least 10%.
