The invention relates to a device for calibrating thermoplastic pipes or profiles emerging from an extruder, having a closed calibrating chamber 3, possibly placed under a vacuum, and a calibrating tool 5 arranged in a coolant bath 4 within the calibrating chamber. The calibrating tool 5 consists of a cylindrical or frustoconical helical spring, the end windings 11 and 12 of which are connected both positively and non-positively to the end flanges 6 and 7 closing off the coolant bath and calibrating chamber respectively.
