PURPOSE:A polyolefin foam having high strength, high elongation and high flame retardancy, prepared by mixing a thermoplastic polyolefin resin with a water- containing inorganic filler and a bisphenol A-derived brominated epoxy resin (or a crosslinked product thereof). CONSTITUTION:A foam is prepared by expansion-molding a resin composition comprising 100pts.wt. thermoplastic polyolefin resin (e.g., polyethylene or polypropylene resin), 10-60pts.wt. water-containing inorganic filler (e.g., magnesium hydroxide or aluminum hydroxide of a particle diameter of about 0.01-50mu), a bisphenol A-derived brominated epoxy resin (bromine content of about 16- 60wt%, an epoxy equivalent weight of about 200-3,000, an MW of about 400- 6,000), or a crosslinked product thereof, in such an amount that the bromine content of the foam is 1-10wt%, and a heat-decomposable blowing agent (e.g., azodicarbonamide).
