PURPOSE:To inform securely the user of a video camera of the occurrence of dew condensation on the photographic lens by detecting and displaying the dew condensation of the photographic lens. CONSTITUTION:When the photographic lens 19 enters a dew condensation state and extremely small water drops stick on the lens surface 19a, the electric resistance value between a couple of transparent electrodes 20a and 20b provided to the lens surface 19a decreases and a measuring circuit 21 detects the dew condensation on the photographic lens 19. Once the measuring circuit 21 detects the dew condensation, a control circuit 22 supplies a current to a dew condensation display lamp 23 to let the user of the video camera know that and also supplies a current to a heater 24 provided to the outer periphery of the lens surface 19a to dry the water drops sticking on the lens surface 19a.
