PURPOSE:To obtain a mechanical press having low side pressure and high stiffness by fixing a one end of a cross spider type universal joint for conical movement of the driving side and fixing a rocking plate connected to a slider on the driving side. CONSTITUTION:A cross spider type universal joint 5 is constituted that a driving shaft 8 which is supported by a bearing 7 through a driving shaft fixing table 2 of a pressing device is arranged at coaxial position with a solid shaft 4 fixed to a crown 3, and one end of a mobile shaft 6 to which a rocking plate 13 is fixed, is pivotally supported with an inclination to the upper eccentric point of the shaft 8 and yet the another end is supported on the shaft 4 by a supporting pin 14. When the shaft 8 is rotated by a driving motor 11 via bevel gears 12, 9 a rod 15 performs vertical movement via a holding plate 16 to drive a slider 17 vertically, with the rocking movement olf the plate 13 according to the conical movement of the shaft 6. The side pressure imposed on a slider is thus kept low and a mechanical press having high stiffness is obtd. |
