PURPOSE:To obtain a clamping device for the inside of desired middle-diameter pipes by the constitution consisting in providing plural freely projectable and rectractable clamping members to the outside periphery in the intermediate part of a hollow base body and supporting the inside surface of the pipes to be joined by means of said clamping members. CONSTITUTION:A guide bar part 3 is provided in the central axis O direction of the hollow base body 2 and pressurizing chambers 5, 5' using the annular bodies fitted freely movably onto the part 3 as pistons 4, 4' are provided. Plural clamping members 8, 8' which are made freely projectable and retractable via links 9, 9' by pistons 1, 4' are provided. The member 8 is projected by the piston 4 and the body 2 is held fixed when the body 2 is disposed in the prescribed position in the pipe and when a working fluid is supplied through an introducing port 6 into the chamber 5. The other pipe is introduced from the lateral side and the working fluid is supplied through an introducing port 6' and through a passage 7 into the chamber 5', then the member 8' is projected and both pipe members are united to one body. The desired clamping device permitting easy operation is thus obtd.
