PURPOSE:To perform optimum recording by a copying machine which allows the replacement of a developing device and obtains a copy in desired color by detecting the kind of toner and controlling a copying process according to the detected kind of toner. CONSTITUTION:A developing device 6 is set and then the projection part 5 provided to the developing device 6 at a position predetermined according to the color of the toner in the developing device 6 turns on a corresponding switch 4 for detection. A display driving part 2 turns on a lamp with a filter of the same color with the toner to display the color of the toner on an operation part. A microcomputer 7 selects the frequency, peak value, and waveform of a developing bias suitable for the toner and outputs them to a developing bias power source 8. Consequently, the developing bias suitable to the toner in the developing device 6 is applied to a developing sleeve 9. |
