PURPOSE:To obtain a large mechanical displacement by a small electrical displacement, by dividing a piezoelectric device by vibration stopping members comprising a plurality of insulators in the direction, where the displacement on the main surface of the piezoelectric device is obtained, fixing the members as a unitary body, thereby constituting a piezoelectric bimorph vibrator. CONSTITUTION:In a piezoelectric bimorph vibrator 10, full-surface electrodes 5 and 6 are formed on both main surfaces of a piezoelectric body 2, which is stuck to one surface of a vibrating plate 4 having a length of (l), width of (w) and a thickness of t1. The vibrator 10 has a length (l), a width (w) and a thickness (t). In order to increase the displacement in the direction of a length (x), one plate shaped vibration stopping member 7, which has a cross section of t2Xl2 and a length of w2, is provided in each of parts between five square-cylinder shaped piezoelectric porcelain pieces 9. The members are fixed in a unitary body and a rectangular piezoelectric porcelain constituting body is formed. With the increase in number of the vibration stopping members, i.e., when p/w becomes more smaller, the larger mechanical displacement can be obtained. |
