PURPOSE:To block displacement of a vibrator in the direction of the presence of vibration stopping members and to obtain a large mechanical displacement in the desired direction, by dividing a piezoelectric porcelain device in the direction perpendicular to the desired displacement direction, and providing a plurality of vibration stopping members of insulators so as to form a unitay body. CONSTITUTION:In a piezoelectric porcelain vibrator 30, full-surface electrodes 3 and 4 are formed on both main surfaces of a piezoelectric porcelain constituting body 5. The vibrator has a length (l), a width (w) and a thickness (t). In order to increase the displacement in the direction of the length (l), one plate shaped vibration stopping member 6, which has a cross section of t1Xl1 and a length w1 is provided in each of warts between five square-cyclinder shaped piezoelectric porcelain pieces 7. The members 6 are fixed and a rectangular piezoelectric porcelain constituting body 5 is formed. It is desirable that the length w1 of the vibration stopping member is approximately equal to the width (w) of the vibrator and that the length l1 of the cross section in the direction (l) of the piezoelectric porcelain vibrator is as small as possible. It is also desirable that the length t1 to the cross section in the direction of the thickness (t) is the same as the thickness of the piezoelectric porcelain piece so that irregularity is obtained with respect to the electrodes and the electric connection of the electrodes are not cut off. |
