PURPOSE:To elevate the accuracy of measurement and work efficiency by rotating a roll via a measuring element wound on a drum-shaped roll and drawn out in the measurement of the horizontal distance between measuring points having a big difference in height. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal distance (s) is calculated from the number of revolutions of a roll 4 via the roll 4 which stands at the specified distance s' from an optional starting point 1. A drum-shaped roll 4' which is vertically symmetrical and united to a body is obtd. by calculating the diameter at the intersecting point of the center 3 of the roll 4 and an optional angle of elevation theta with the diameter of the roll 4 situated at a horizontal level position 2 as D. The roll 4' is supported freely turnably to an ascending and descending system 5 which is freely ascendable and descendable in vertical direction. And when a link 6 turns upwards by an angle of elevation theta' centering around the starting point 1 by a measuring element 9 drawn out of the link 6, the element 9 is wound around the diameter position of the roll 4' in conformity with the angle of elevation theta'. So the horizontal distance corresponding to the number of revolutions from the diameter D at the horizontal level position 2 of the roll 4' to the surveying point can be calculated for display via a meter 12 connected to a shaft 10 of the roll 4'. |
