PURPOSE:To enable intermediate etching of heating elements or the like, by a method wherein the first and second metallic layer parts are subjected to electroplating, then the second metallic layer part is removed by etching, and scribing is conducted for each unit region. CONSTITUTION:Since all the surfaces of end parts 4A are electrically connected to each other, desired electroplating can be conducted on the surfaces of all metallic layer parts 11A, 11B by connecting a single part of the end parts 4A to a power source for plating. The plating may be conducted by, for example, depositing nickel in a thickness of 3-5mum as the first layer and then depositing gold thereon in a thickness of 1-2mum as the second layer. Numeral 12 denotes the plated layer. Thereafter, the unnecessary metallic layer part 11B is removed by etching or the like. Then, scribing is conducted along dotted lines P, whereby a thermal printing head can be obtained. |
