PURPOSE:To obtain an internal-reformation-type fuel cell with high speed of load response by avoiding carbon deposition occuring due to temperature decrease by maintaining the ratio of steam to carbon at the anode inlet high by setting the anode gas recycle rate higher as the fuel flow rate increases according to the load command. CONSTITUTION:The flow rate of a fuel controlled by a fuel flow rate control valve 2 is varied according to the load command. An anode recycle gas flow rate control valve 4 is operated to maintain the recycle rate at least a given level by calculating the ratio of the fuel gas flow rate to the recycle gas flow rate according to the increase rate of the load by a ratio-computing element. By performing such operation as above, during load increase, the proportion of steam in the gas at the anode inlet can be maintained high. Therefore, even when temperature decreases due to an increased amount of heat absorption resulting from reforming reaction performed inside the anode, carbon deposition can be avoided. |
