PURPOSE:To make it possible to rapidly perform type printing, by performing the selective movement control of a reference spoke and a spoke 180 deg. symmetric to said reference spoke to a home position on the basis of the set content of a type group setting means. CONSTITUTION:A reference spoke 2a and the lefthand spoke 2b thereof are set so as to be made shorter than the lengths of spokes 2 in the circumference thereof and a hole 4 for a home position H.P. is set to the position of the rotor 1 corresponding to the spoke 2a while the lengths of spokes 2c, 2d at an 180 deg. symmetric position are also made short and types 3 relatively high in use frequency are arranged in the circumference around 2a and types 3 relatively low in use frequency are arranged to the circumference around 2c. Then, by detecting the hole 4 by first and second H.P. sensors, the spoke 2a or 2c is selectively located to H.P. Therefore, types can be rapidly printed by a typewriter regardless of use frequency and the confirmation of a final printing character becomes easy.
