This assembly comprises a reservoir 2 of make-up product, a cap 3 and a rod 23 ending in a brush 24 which penetrates inside the reservoir 2 via an orifice bordered by the lip 15 of a drying member 13, an insertion shaft 12 being arranged at the entry of the reservoir 2, the outer opening of the said shaft 12 having a cross-section greater than that of the brush 24 in the free state. The inner end of the shaft 12 has a cross-section which is smaller than that of the brush 24 in the free state, an expansion chamber 18 with a section which is greater than the cross-section of the brush 24 in the free state being provided between the lip 15 and the adjacent border of the shaft 12. Double drying is thus effected, on the one hand by the lip 15 and, on the other hand by the lower border of the insertion channel 12. This improvement in drying is supplemented by the fact that, on re-insertion of the brush 24, it is impossible for there to be any projection or rising of product into the shaft 12. <IMAGE>
