摘要 PURPOSE:To enhance separation efficiency without changing the content of a moving phase, by applying voltage between the conductive fixed phase carrier and the conductor arranged in a separation column. CONSTITUTION:For example, in performing the liquid chromatography of a compound A having charges asymmetrically distributed throughout the molecule thereof such as p-aminobenzoic acid, when an electric field is applied between the conductive fixed phase carrier 42 and the conductor 43 provided in a separation column 4, the mutual action with the fixed phase is changed by the intensity and polarity of the electric field because directionality is generated in the molecule and, as a result, the distribution coefficient K of the compound A can be changed. With respect to a compound B having positive or negative charge as the whole of the molecule such as propylenediamine, because the electric field itself performs ion exchange like action, the distribution coefficient K of the compound B can be changed by the intensity and polarity of the electric field. By this electric field control type liquid chromatographic apparatus, the separation of a compound having basicity can be enhanced without especially changing the condition such as the temp. of a moving phase or the column.
