<p>PURPOSE:To listen efficiently to a message through a communication system which uses a voice storage device by normalizing a pause time before the start of voicing and a silence time in the middle of the voicing, and inserting silence signals in plural kinds of fixed pattern which are prepared in advance according to the silence time of a speaker. CONSTITUTION:When there is silence information, a silence detecting circuit CNT16 counts the number of silence cells following a flag under the control of a control circuit NVC18 and a silence suppressing circuit NVS5 sends out a voice information transmission interruption signal to a controller CPU7 through a control lead 20 to locks a file memory FM6 so that a digital voice signal is sent out of the memory to a buffer BUF19. The silence detecting circuit CNT16 decreases silence cells according to the number of counted silence cells, i.e. four cells to two, five to three, ten to five, and more than ten cells to eight by a predetermined rule. Thus, an unnecessary silence time is shortened without spoiling the naturalness of a conversation.</p> |
