PURPOSE:To inspect the filler in a wire easily and simply by moving an eddy current flaw detection probe along a wire relatively and detecting a noise signal in the current signal from the probe. CONSTITUTION:A welding wire is run at a specific speed through center holes of eddy current flaw detection probes 18 and 20. Outputs of the probes 18 and 20 are inputted to an amplitude discriminator 52 through tuning amplifiers 28 and 32, the 1st and the 2nd phase detectors 34 and 36, carrier filters 42 and 46, a phase shifter 44, a band-pass filter 48, and a full-wave rectifier 50 to detect noise signals in the outputs of the probes 18 and 20. Then, when abnormality of the welding wire is detected with the output of the amplitude discriminator 52, a relay 70 is operated to mark the abnormal part of the welding wire. |
