A seal 3 for a window pane 5 which is guided in a frameless fashion in the body of a motor vehicle has a cavity 9 which is bounded towards the outside of the body of the vehicle by a web 11. The web 11 has a substantially greater degree of rigidity than the other regions of the seal 3 and, when the window pane 5 is closed, serves as an upward support. When the window pane 5 moves into the seal 3, the web 11 is swivelled towards the window pane 5 so that a small offset between the web 11 and the window pane 5 is always produced. Preferably, the lower region of the seal 3 is provided with a lip 15 which serves to guide in the window pane 5 and forms a second seal and a water channel for residual water. <IMAGE> |
