PURPOSE:To prevent a bed effect from being applied to a work by a method wherein an adjusting valve is fixed to a secondary air intake clearance 7 arranged around a burner. CONSTITUTION:A double cylindrical sliding type adjusting valve 10 is arranged at a secondary air intake clearance 7 facing to the outer part of the furnace in such a way as enclosing the extremity end 2 of the burner, operation of the operating lever 17 of the outer cylinder 11 causes the air flowing ports 13 and 14 to be closed or opened. In order to prevent a rapid cooling during a cooling step subsequent to a completion of baking operation, the air flowing-in ports 13 and 14 are closed by operating the operation lever 17 and a cooling crack of the work may be prevented.
