PURPOSE:In a method of tying and cutting off the end of a wound linear material, to always perform the cutoff of the wound linear material in a fixed position, by cutting off the linear material between a pinch means and a terminal pin, using a movable nozzle to cause a shearing strain in the linear material, and thereafter applying a tensile force to the material to cut it off. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 5 is reciprocated in the longitudinal direction of a bobbin 1 in the spindle 4 of a winder to cause a shearing strain in a linear material 2, tie the material in the axial direction of a terminal pin 1a, and apply a tensile force to the linear material between a pinch means 6 and a winding start terminal pin 1a to break off the material by tension. According to this constitution, the material 2 is always cut off in a fixed position, and such a tied portion is provided that the cut-off end of the linear material does not project as a whisker from the peripheral surface of the terminal pin 1a. |
