PURPOSE:To prevent a bearing plate and pat metals from being seized together, by forming, in the lower surface of a bearing plate, with grooves which extend from the outer end to the inner end of the bearing plate. CONSTITUTION:A thrust bearing is composed of a stationary part 2, pat metals 1 in a suitable number supported on the periphery of the stationary part 2, a frame 3 secured to the lower end of the rotary shat A of an underwater motor and a bearing plate 4 secured to the frame 3 and having is lower surface slidably laid on the upper surfaces of the pat metals 1. Grooves 41 are formed in the lower end face of the bearing plate 4, extending from the outer end 42 to the inner end 43. The grooves 41 communicate between the outer part and the inner part of the bearing plate 4 since they extend between the outer part and the inner part, having suitable width and height. |
