PURPOSE:To provide the titled small low cost unit stable in an ink emitting state and easy to handle and maintain, constituted by integrally forming a recording head for emitting ink and an ink container for storing the aforementioned ink. CONSTITUTION:A recording head 12 for emitting ink and an ink container 8 for storing said ink are integrally formed. An air passing orifice 40 is provided to the upper surface 38 of the ink container 8 and hermetically closed in usual by a pressure regulation valve 42 and the ink in the vicinity of an orifice 20 is held ti accurate negative pressure to prevent the outflow of the ink and the inflow of air. When the ink is consumed by recording operation and the liquid level of the ink is lowered, the negative pressure in the ink container increases to open the pressure regulation valve 42 and air is flowed into the ink container 8 from the air passing orifice 40 to reduce the negative pressure in the container 8. The negative pressure is reduced to close the pressure regulation valve 42 and this operation is repeated. |
