Described is the use of polyisocyanate-crosslinkable methacrylates for providing sheet metals that are to be printed by the sublimation transfer printing process with a coating that has an affinity for dyes. This makes it possible to use dyes which sublime below 220 DEG C and for the transfers (intermediate carriers) to be used to be simple and commercially available kinds of paper.
