PURPOSE:To provide high sensitivity, to reduce the residual potential, and to improve the durability and resistance to environment by using a specified hydrazone deriv. as a charge transferring substance. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive layer contg. a hydrazone compound represented by the formula (where X is O, S, Se or imino, Y is an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a heterocyclic group, R1 is alkyl, aralkyl or aryl, and each of R2- R5 is H, halogen, alkyl, lower alkoxy, amino or alkylamino) is formed. The hydrazone compound is used as a charge transferring substance. When the compound and a charge generating substance are contained in the same layer, a single layer type sensitive body is obtd. When they are contained in separate layers, a separated function type sensitive body is obtd. The hydrazone compound is mixed with a binding resin to form the layer. Since the compound is used, the sensitive body has high sensitivity whether it is charged positively or negatively, and the sensitive body undergoes little deterioration due to repeated use and has stable electrostatic chargeability and sensitivity in wide temp. and humidity ranges. |
