PURPOSE:To obtain an opening and closing structure of a transmissive display that can miniaturize a television set by providing a panel opening and closing angle restricting face and two or more projections, and giving opening and closing control and maximum opening and closing angle to the panel frame connecting to an opening and closing controlling face. CONSTITUTION:In the opening and closing mechanism of a portable liquid cyrstal television of a type that projects an image on a liquid crystal display panel 22 on a mirror and sees the image, a locking step 28 in front of the panel frame 20 is disengaged by depressing a latch 12 provided in the body, and the panel frame 20 is opened by about 20 deg. by spring force of a torsion coil spring 50 until a stopping projection 35 provided in a positioning piece 33 hits against a reference projection 44 of an outer cover 40. When a part near the front end of the panel frame is held by fingers and the frame 20 is opened, the projection 44 falls in a positioning groove 36 provided in a positioning piece 35 and stops at 40 deg.- 50 deg.. Even if the frame 20 is tried to open more than this angle, the frame can not be opened as a stopper face 37 provided in the positioning piece 33 hits against a control face 45 of the outer cover 40 of the body.
