发明名称 GROOVING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a constant cutting depth of a tool on a work by following the tip of the tool according to the wave of the work, with the tool tip to which a load with a constant vertical component is applied, in a method for grooving a certain depth. CONSTITUTION:When a grooving apparatus which provides a tool 15 having a diamond tip 32 with an included angle of 90 deg. and a rake angle of 0 deg. is used for grooving the surface of a sample material made of glass which is plated with vapor deposition of gold with the thickness of 5mum by applying a vertical component 0.193g of a load and cutting speed of 0.5mm./sec, the apparatus can apply a constant depth of cut of the tool tip 32 according to the wave of the work surface and thereby cut straight a constant depth of very fine V-shaped groove with the width of W=0.1mum and the depth of h=0.05mum on the surface of glass plated with gold vapor deposition. Whereby, this permits the tool to achieve a constant depth of cut on the work surface, by allowing the tip of tool to follow the wave on the work surface.
