The invention relates to a high-voltage switching apparatus which is designed as a three-position switch and is suitable for switching load currents and for earthing installation parts. The essential feature is seen in that a switching element in the form of a vacuum switching tube is arranged in the insulating medium, electrically in series with the interruption path which occurs in the central position (TR). The apparatus is primarily suitable for load interruptor switching units.
