PURPOSE:To simplify operation and prevent contamination in printing from occurring due to mis-setting, by a construction wherein a separating member having a diameter smaller than that of paper pressing rollers and a predetermined length is slidably provided on a shaft for the paper pressing rollers between the paper pressing rollers. CONSTITUTION:One 6 of the paper pressing rollers 6, 6 is integrally provided with a small diameter body 7 projecting in the axial direction, whereby a predetermined spacing is maintained between the rollers 6, 6. With a carriage 2 moved leftward, the left roller 6 is slidden leftward, and when the roller 6 reaches a left-side preset position, a rotary solenoid 8 is turned OFF, and a printing action is started. With the solenoid 8 turned OFF, the shaft 5 is moved to the first stable point position, and the left and right rollers 6, 6 are set to pressing positions according to the paper size, whereby the inserted paper is clamped between the rollers 6, 6 and a platen 1. Each time a change in the paper size is detected, the pressing rollers 6, 6 are automatically set to positions according to the new paper size. |
