PURPOSE:To provide an improvement in the wear resistance, etc. of a titled member by reducing each metallic oxide powder by graphite powder so as to contain specific weight % of C, Mo, Cr, Co, Ni, etc. after reduction and molding and sintering the formed alloy powder as it is. CONSTITUTION:The metallic oxide powder is reduced by the graphite powder mixed simultaneously therewith so as to have the compsn. after reduction contg., by weight %, at least >=1 kinds among 1-4% C, 10-40% Mo, 3-20% Cr, 1- 10% Co, 1-5% Ni, 1-5% Cu and 0.1-2% Mn and consisting of the balance substantially Fe. The sponge-like alloy powder formed in this stage is molded and sintered as it is, by which the member for a valve mechanism system is obtd. C reacts with Mo and Cr to form a carbide which improves the wear resistance. Ni, Cu and Mn strengthen the matrix structure. The remaining round pores having <=5mu diameter are uniformly dispersed and the resistance fo scuffing is improved as well.
