PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of fluid through a gas provided occasioned by primary wear of spiral bodies, by a method wherein moving and stationary scroll members are assembled in a manner that the phases thereof are displaced in the swirl direction of the moving scroll in response to the primary wear of the spiral bodies. CONSTITUTION:A positioning hole 208a, bored in a stationary scroll member 20, is provided in a position which is displaced by an angle epsilonrod, determined by an equality of epsilon=(1/1,000)(a/b), wherein amu is primary wear of the flank surfaces of spiral bodies 202 and 212, respectively, and (b)mm. is the radius of the reference circle of the involute curve of each flank surface, in the rotation direction of a main shaft from a positioning hole 218 bored in a moving scroll member 21. Positioning bars are respectively inserted into the positioning holes 208a and 218, and the stationary and moving scroll members 20 and 21 are assembled in a way that the phases thereof are displaced in the swirl direction of the moving scroll member 21. This, even if the phase of the moving scroll member 21 is displaced, prevents formation of a gap between the spiral bodies 202 and 212.
