PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal head of low cost, uniform printing density, and expected prolongation of life without giving burdens to an electric circuit and a software by providing auxiliary heating resistor elements with series or parallel connection at the outer tip of main heating resistor element line. CONSTITUTION:For example, auxiliary heating resistor elements D12-D72 at the tips of row direction of main heating resistor elements D11-D71 that are arranged in a straight line in the longitudinal direction of thermal head are simultaneously formed with hitherto known technologies of thin film and thick film and etc. Also, auxiliary heating resistor element D12 and the main heating resistor element D11 are connected at one of their ends with an individual electricity supply pattern L11 which had two split ends and at the other end with a common electricity supply pattern C. On the other hand, the auxiliary heating resistor element D72 and the main heating resistor element D71 are connected respectively in a parallel at one end with an individual electric supply pattern L71 and at the other end with common electricity supply pattern C, and a thermal head is obtained as desired.
