PURPOSE:The titled composition which can give a carbon fiber plastic excellent in 90 deg.-tensile elongation, water resistance, and curability as well as heat resistance, containing a specified amine derivative as a curing agent. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition containing an epoxy resin (e.g., N,N,N', N'-tetraglycidyldiphenylmethane or novolak epoxy resin) and a compound of the formula (wherein R is a 1-3C alkyl and n is 1-5) as a curing agent can show good curability without detriment to its shelf life and can provide a large elongation. Therefore, when it is cured (150 deg.CX2hr), a highly heat-resistant cured product having a small water absorption, a large elongation, and a glass transition point of 160-210 deg.C can be obtained. Thus, it is possible to obtain a carbon fiber plastic small in dimensional change due to water absorption and residual thermal strain and large in a 90 deg.-tensile elongation. Because of these properties, this carbon fiber plastic can be suitably used in the production of super-high speed centrifuges, etc.
