PURPOSE:To prevent any shift of the point of a target plate irradiated by electrons by making a rotary anode by fusing a high-melting metal target to a base body consisting of a molybdenum member containing specific quantities of potassium and silicon. CONSTITUTION:A mixture composed of molybdenum, 100-1,000ppm potassium and 200-3,000ppm silicon is subjected to hydrogen reduction and then molded into a plate which is then sintered. Next, the sintered plate is rolled to expand the molybdenum crystals in the direction perpendicular to the direction in which the rotary anode is produced. Next, the rolled plate is subjected to recrystallization treatment in such a manner as to adjust the L/W level to at least 5 when the length and the width of recrystallized particles are supposed to be L and W respectively, thereby forming a base body 2. After that, a target 1 consisting of a tungsten plate is fused to the surface of the base body 2, thereby making a rotary anode for an X-ray tube. As a result, since the target 1 is fushed to the base body 2 after its deformation resistance is increased, it is possible to extremely minimize the shift of the irradiation position resulting from thermal deformation. |
