PURPOSE:To make the efficiency of a motor satisfactory and as well to make the rotation thereof smooth, in a Westco type motor driven fuel pump, by providing a motor section in the outer peripheral area of a pump section. CONSTITUTION:In a motor driven fuel pump which is composed of a first end plate 20 and a second end plate 21, the first end plate 20 is provided thereto with a permanent magnet 14 and a shaft 24, and the second end plate 21 is provided with thereto a turbine section 33 and an arm section 34. Further, the outer peripheral area of a pump section P which is composed of an impeller 3 and an impeller casing 26, is formed with a motor section (m) composed of a rotor 25 and a commutator 27. With this arrangement the fluid passage is isolated from the motor section so that the stream of fluid may be made very smooth, thereby the motor may be driven, efficiently.
