The invention relates to a method allowing the simultaneous analysis of several gas streams, essentially characterised in that it consists in admitting into a mass spectrometer samples of a given volume of the gas flow to be analysed at a given frequency and, at the same frequency, in detecting the signals or in measuring the peaks corresponding to each constituent of the said flow; and its implementation device including, mounted in at least one gas stream circuit G1, an alternating-action valve V1, a monitoring unit U1C1 prescribing a frequency F1 of opening and closing of this valve by emitting signals of this frequency, these same signals also being taken as reference signals R1D1S1 for a synchronous detector DS and a mass spectrometer SM associated with its mass scanning control device CBM and electronic control device ECSM. <IMAGE>
