PURPOSE:To realize easy handling due to nonexistence of an obstacle outside a housing and also realize compact structure by providing a balance weight inside a housing. CONSTITUTION:A balance weight 33 is provided, centering around an axis of a rotary shaft 17, on the opposite side of the center of gravity of a rotary rotor 23. Since the balance weight 33, differently from a conventional compressor, is provided inside a housing 11, structure of a rotary type compressor is compact. Accordingly, a large space is not required in providing said compressor in a vehicle or the like. Further, since there is no obstacle outside the housing 11, handling of the compressor can be eased. Furthermore, weight adjustment for the balance weight 33 is simplified by making it detachable. Since a balance weight made of material different from a rotary shaft 17 in specific gravity is usable, volume of the balance weight can be reduced by using the balance weight made of material of large specific gravity.
