Increasing apparent density of sodium tri:poly:phosphate

The bulk density of dry sodium tripolyphosphate is increased by (a) spray-drying a liq. sodium ortho-phosphate feed contg. a stable dispersion of 5-15% sodium tri-polyphosphate granules and with density of 54.5-55.5 Baume, at a drier inlet temp. of 100-110 deg. C, by atomising with steam against an open flame; and (b) forming dry particles of sodium tripolyphosphate.
