PURPOSE:To perform laser working in an optimum focal position by determining the optimum object distance of a condensing system in accordance with the transmission distance of laser light from a light source to a material to be worked and adjusting automatically the actual object distance to an optimum object distance obtd. by arithmetic. CONSTITUTION:Laser light 9 generated by an oscillator 1 is irradiated from a condenser lens 8 via bending mirrors 5a-5d on the material to be worked on a table 2 and working is started by moving a scanner 3 to the programmed start point for working. The positions x, y, z are detected at the same instant from the count numbers of pulse generators for actuators 6, 7, 13 and a light transmission distance L is calculated by an arithmetic. An optimum object distance (l) is calculated by a prescribed calculation equation. The actual object distance l' detected by a sensor 12 is compared with the optimum object distance l and the actuator 13 for the Z axis is driven until both distances coincide with each other. Laser working in the optimum focal position is thus made possible. |
